I had seen these boots earlier & had my eyes on them. Had to wear out at least one pair before I pulled the trigger.

Glad I did. These boots are that perfect balance between being light enough but yet robust in all the right places. Full rubber Rand is mandatory for me. I live, train & hunt PNW panhandle of Idaho & these boots simply excel in that environment. Using them every day as I prepare for some back pack camping & hunting this summer. They needed no break in period. The design is clearly the result of experience & knowledge of mountaineering & blending of new textile materials blended & bundled up in one package. The flex (2.5) is not stiff but just right for steep descents without “stuffing” & cramming your toes into the toe box. Lugs on sole are not too deep for added weight & grip nicely on granite, forest floor detritus. I wouldn’t want them any thinner in the padding around ankles for support but they were designed with that in mind to keep weight to a minimum. Similar to Scarpa Mescalito but lighter. Lighter than Crispi Thor ll’s also. These will probably end up being my Truck to Summit favorite’s. Bravura to Zamberlan.

Zamberlan has turned into my new favorite boot. My feet are hard to please in terms fit and comfort. Zamberlan has a few models that work great for me. The 226 salathe may be my new "go to" boot for early elk hunting.
